Craig M. Fowler

Craig Fowler, a former state district judge, is one of the most respected family law attorneys in North Texas. He has more than four decades’ experience practicing law, has represented hundreds of family law clients, and is passionate about protecting the rights of each client.

Mr. Fowler has been Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1975. He served ten years as a Family Court District Judge in Dallas County from 1998 – 2007. He was one of the first lawyers in Texas to become an attorney-mediator, pioneered the development of alternative dispute resolution for family law disputes, and taught mediation courses throughout Texas and in other states.

Mr. Fowler is skilled in handling cases involving complex property division and challenging child custody issues. His background includes jury trials in addition to appearances in the Court of Appeals and before the Texas Supreme Court. His knowledge and depth of experience in the adversary system has also given him a unique insight into its impact on children and families and enables him to handle each case with creativity, versatility and according to the desires of the client whether it is by trial, negotiated settlement, mediation, or the collaborative process.

He is committed to the principles of civility, professionalism, ethics, and legal excellence. Mr. Fowler was the founding president of the Annette Stewart American Inn of Court and, in 2004, received its highest honor of selection to the Serjeants Inn. He has lectured frequently on various family law matters to professional organization.
